Well done SPITBUCKET, looks like a great event.
Thank you Iain for a great and informative review of these Hunter wines, I find it unfortunate that we can't find the large majority or even some here in France.

As for Ken,what a life !!!!
A ken's day is never done, Cigars, wines, fishing, writing, unlimited tastings, raising snakes & spiders on his deck, The man can't be EVERYWHERE.

Guy

FGreat video! Ken or Iain you say acidity is lower than usual, does this mean that the wine will reach its peak quicker? So instead of waiting 20 we can enjoy them in 5 to 6 years?

Another question, I personally love Semillon, I think it?s god?s gift to Australia however not everyone enjoys the lime/lemon characteristic of it but love the honey, toasty characteristic of an aged one.

Should the hunter start a back vintage program, where consumers can buy them at a premium price? For example instead of paying $20 dollars pay the extra $10 but get to enjoy the wine today? Just a thought.

@Elie elie, first your last point. absolutely but in fact, many are doing it. though $10 may be a smidge optimistic in spots! quite a few of the producers are holding wines back. margan, meerea park, brokenwood, mcwilliams, tyrrells and numerous others.
and i do think that 2011 will be a slightly earlier drinking vintage.
