vietti is a terrific piedmont producer for aussies to follow as they have a really goos presence here, right through all levels. and more importantly, they make some cracker wines.
and i remain convinced that 2004 is a truly magnificent year.

Learning something new every day! I never knew that Barbera and Dolcetto were more popular than the Barolo 100 years ago!

Great episode!

Thank you Luca for making Ken look good.

Cheers,
Elie.

Another episode that hits home for me - I've lost count of how many bottles of Perbacco I've gone through - I do like it very much.

As alluded to, it is basically a declassified barolo. The perfume when you first open the bottle is intoxicating - the floral / violets is right on the mark.

Something that leaves me scratching my head a bit is the color - it is quite deep for a nebbiolo. Added to that is that I find it a wine on the "bigger" side. So I don't know if this has to do with how it matures or.....

Of course, this is just my subjective view. I also consider this a great value at around U.S. $20, and would say the same for their great barberas.

Thanks for the great episode.
